Of everything that happens in affairs of humankind:
Perpetual threats against His land
With plans to destroy His nation, Israel
Denigration of marriage as defined within His Word
Dissolution of family structure, ordained by God himself
Murder of millions of precious unborn babies
Shameful abuses perpetrated against His little ones
Leaders who refuse to seek His favor
Political unrest and loss of liberties
Ministers imprisoned for having faith in Him
Martyrs who die for their refusal to deny Him
Crises that occur from failed economies
Suffering of the poor and needy, sadly undertrodden
Dictators who murder their dissenters
And bury them together in shallow unmarked graves
Propagation worldwide of spurious religions
Creators of chaos in the name of a manmade god
Strife among nations and peoples everywhere
Soldiers dying valiantly in a fight against injustice
Flagrant disregard for His commandments
Ravages of sin upon earth’s population
Dealers who trade in human life and evil drugs
That cause some to commit unspeakable acts
Denial of God’s holiness, and even His existence
Rush for the removal of the mention of His name
Homage paid to gods of wealth and fame
Glorification in print and film of practices immoral
Ongoing struggles with catastrophes of nature
Indomitable spirit shown by valorous survivors
Demonstrations of His love with Christian charity
Through deeds of selfless sacrifice and generosity.
Beyond the mostly sobering headlines of today
Lies the knowledge that Sovereign Almighty God is,
And always has been, present among His creation,
And that He loved the world so much He sent His only Son
To die for all the sins of any who would trust in Him.
Not only does God see all, hear all, know all,
But also, He is Judge of all.
His Word, like His love, is steadfast forever,
And He has promised to punish evildoers
As He brings reward to the righteous
In That Day.
