I got a job.

Four words, four little words that dropped my heart into my stomach.

I should be happy—ecstatic even. After all, it is my first real job out of college.

But I don't. I almost feel...

Guilty?

This job is great. I can't ask for anything more benefit or salary wise. All of my bills are going to be paid and I actually have insurance for the first time since high school. I mean, that thought alone makes the job worth it.

I think...

I'm actually embarrassed to tell my parents about this job. I mean, I know that they will be just as happy that I found a job, especially in this economy. But, I know their questions will linger about why I chose this one out of any of the others I could have taken. And what's worse, is knowing that some part of my morals died when I accepted this job.

You would think that after applying for positions at every organic market and vegetarian restaurant in the city, I would have had at least a fighting chance to get on at any of those places. But instead, I got hired at the only store I applied for on a whim.

I just hope Thumper doesn't come in and see Bambi in the display case.

Short and to the point - a job is a job, unless it is doing something that you know is illegal or ungodly. Sometimes, you have to make other sacrifices to hold to your convictions.
