Shem: Raining.
Ham: Raining? Again?
Shem:What do you mean, 'again?' It's still raining. It hasn't stopped yet.
Ham: Well gee, how long has it been?
Shem: Uh... I don't know. All I know is I've forgotten what that great, big, bright thing in the sky looks like.
Ham: You mean the sun?
Shem: Yeah. That's it. The sun.
Ham: Hey. Listen. You hear that?
Shem: I don't hear anything.
Ham: Exactly.
Shem: Huh?
Ham: I think it actually stopped raining.
Shem (checking outside): I... I think you're right, brother. Still no sign of that great big fire ball, however.
Japheth (running in): Do you hear that??
Ham (slapping Japheth on the shoulder): Yep. I think it actually stopped.
Shem: Dad! Hey, dad! DDDDDDAAAAAAAADDDDDDDDDD!
Noah: What's all this ruckus about? I was just starting to enjoy this new silence.
Shem: Can we go out and play? Please?
Noah: Son, have you looked outside the past, oh, I don't know, thirty days or so?
Shem: Yeah. Nothing but... Oh. Valid point. So you mean we've been on this ark for about forty days and we still have to wait around? This is taking an eternity.
Noah: Forty days is not so much when you are 600 years old.
Ham: You're telling me you don't want to get out of here?
Noah: I never said that. I'm just trying to keep things in perspective.
Japheth: I think my perspective drowned on day three.
Shem: Yours and mine both.
Ham: Me three.
Shem: So how will we know when we can finally go outside?
Noah: The Lord will let us know.

Noah: Japheth, grab that log I've been keeping. How long has it been since I sent out that dove?
Japheth: Looks like it's been about a week.
Noah: It is time.
Shem and Ham: Did you just say it's time?
Noah: Yes my sons, it is time.
The door to the ark opens and Noah and his family walk out
Shem (shielding his eyes): What is that thing?
Ham: That would be the elusive sun.
Shem: Not that. (pointing to the rainbow) THAT!
All stare up at the sky in amazement
Booming voice offstage: This is the sign of the covenant which I am making between Me and you and every living creature that is with you; I set My bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a sign of a covenant between Me and the earth. Never again shall the water become a flood to destroy all flesh.
Shem: Pardon me for butting in, Lord, but never again? As in not for all of eternity?
Booming voice offstage (chuckling): Not for all of eternity.
