From deep within the caverns of the unknowable,
He who was and forever shall be
Sent forth a thunderous command,
And you became
Fixed, immersed in brilliance and set aflame,
Forever a radiant star
Dipped in perpetuity
Immutable, unchanging,
Until That Day.
From our earthly pose,
We gaze upon your beauty
And feel the warmth of your embrace.
The fire that burns within you turns night to day
And dark to light,
Melts winter’s snow and turns up the heat in summer.
From your throne you reign in majesty,
Sketch an arc on earth’s vast ceiling
In iridescent hues
That bends in eternal promise after the rain,
Play among the earth in shifting shadows
And dancing sunbeams.
Celestial bodies circle your dwelling place
And pay homage.
On this terrestrial plane,
You kiss the flowers and they blossom,
Caress the earth and it yields fruit,
Penetrate our fragile frame and we grow.
From age to age you are Sun.
None can compare,
Save One.
The Star Who sealed our destiny with His blood
Is the Son that shines in our darkest hour,
When tears flow unseen,
That carries our grief and bears our burden
And hears our faintest whisper.
Comforts us by His Word
And calms our fears with a still, small voice.
Throws a lifeline lest we sink in stormy seas,
Disrobes our heavy heart and covers it with praise.
The Bright Morning Star Who gives Life
Unchained by time,
That left the unknowable
So we might know Him,
Did not become because He always was
And always will be,
The Son.
