where the mighty are brought low,
and the poor and weak are raised up,
where the wise are made foolish,
and the foolish made wise;
where an instrument of torture becomes
a symbol of grace and salvation,
the Kingdom of Outrageous Love.
There is a kingdom
where the poor and outcasts
dine with the King in sumptuous fashion,
a bounteous feast where all are welcome
and none are turned away,
the Kingdom of Outrageous Love.
There is a kingdom
where the farmer exuberantly
tosses handfuls of seeds onto the ground,
letting them fall where they may,
sharing his bounty, hoping for a rich harvest,
the Kingdom of Outrageous Love.
There is a kingdom
where workers are hired throughout the day
regardless of skill or status,
each given a chance
to serve the King,
each paid an equal portion of the King’s riches,
the Kingdom of Outrageous Love.
There is a kingdom
where the King washes
the feet of his servants, and
offers his life in ransom for theirs,
the Kingdom of Outrageous Love.
There is a kingdom
where a father welcomes home
a foolish and rebellious child, and
forgiveness flows from a fountain
that never runs dry,
the Kingdom of Outrageous Love.
There is a kingdom
where giving away everything
is an honor, an unrestrained joy and delight;
where all share and no one is in need,
the Kingdom of Outrageous Love.
There is a kingdom
where prayers and blessings
are bestowed on enemies;
where singing reverberates through persecution,
joy dances over trials,
praise and thanksgiving subdue suffering and pain,
the Kingdom of Outrageous Love.
This Kingdom of Outrageous Love
dwells within the hearts of
the King’s children;
where his will is our delight,
his word is our command,
and every choice we make
is a reflection of our King,
affecting all those around us.
The Kingdom of Outrageous Love
demands everything,
all we have and all we are;
it's ours to share and spread,
ours to invite and
welcome others to participate in
the Kingdom of Outrageous Love.
