that Christ was the way, the truth and the life.
With enthusiasm and excitement, I sought to understand
how in only three short years,
this perfect man from Galilee was rejected … by those who knew Him best.
As a new believer, I was motivated to learn it all, and
to let His Spirit change me into the likeness of our Lord.
Through dedication and study of His Word, I came to see the man
that God revealed as holy and beloved, and my desire increased
to become a mirror image … of the One who knew Him best.
As a new believer, I devoured every word.
Coming to realize His love of all sinners, the lowly and the lost.
For most of His ministry, He preached in the area of Lake Galilee
where He often taught to these followers from a boat,
filled with His fishers of men … those who knew Him best.
As God grows me into maturity, He reveals more of His son,
how to trust His words in parables, His miracles and His works.
With Paul’s help, through his second letter to the Corinthians,
I learn that God wants me to be a jar of clay, crushed and broken, so that
His light inside of me can be seen … through us who know Him best.
As God shapes me to into readiness to spread his News of love,
He also gives me suffering, not to rely on my own strength, but to turn to God instead.
I now believe and that God cannot use anyone greatly, until they are first hurt deeply.
In that way, by our trials and troubles,
we can comfort others … to witness that we know Him best.
As God enables me to be willing to be comforted and grown,
He also fills my heart with ardor to continue at His work of
planting seeds of willingness in others,
and letting God in His mercy and grace change their lives through faith in Jesus.
God’s light shines brightest … through those who know Him best.
