Prodigality

What a fool! He had a good home, good parents, a good position, a very good prospect of life. But he grabbed all he could from his father and left and went to a totally different place and life.
He thought he could have a much better way of living. For a while he did. He got what he wanted. He did what he wanted. And worst of all he indulged in things which his father would have forbidden.
However! Through his blind stupidity and self-indulgence he lost everything and finished up in a horrible condition. He was shattered. He could only see one way out. Go home! Go home! And he did.
With fears and the most awful feelings, he eventually got near his birthplace.
And what did he see!
His father running towards him!
His father kissed him and welcomed him home and prepared a wonderful feast of celebration as though his prodigal son had done nothing wrong.
It was certainly not what he deserved!
Grace upon grace!

Would love to have my senses involved in this retelling - sight, sound, smell, etc would have set a more compelling read of a familiar story.

This is a succinct retelling of The Prodigal Son. Don't be afraid to add dialog, body language and thoughts to bring your words to life. Instead of using exclamation points, allow your words to do your exclaiming. You did a nice job of writing on topic.

This story has so much potential for expansion on internal feelings of all involved. As a writer you get to describe those feelings, and this seemed a little reserved. Good message and great story!
