Declarations

Every day the same.
Never below 70 degrees Fahrenheit.
Intensely humid.
Mid-afternoon and here it comes again!
Torrents.
And the monsoon drains fill up once more.
January right through to December with scarcely a day any different.
And I didn’t choose to live out there in such an uncomfortable and unchanging climate.
Nineteen years old and sent to serve with the Royal Air Force in the Far East.
Oh to get back to the beauty of my native English climate!

Well, at the end of my year in the Tropics, here I was back in the lovely English climate and all its uncertainties.
One such uncertainty I could never forget. Early 1947 and no snow. Then in the middle of March enough snow to stop me and my sister walking the mile to Woodville School.
Years later, 1976, no rain from mid-March till the end of August. And then loads of rain so that the total rainfall was average!
What a blessing it is to have our uncertain English climate!

The Bible tells us that -“The heavens declare the glory of God.” Psalm 19:1.

Well, He has used various heavenly declarations through the ages, beginning with the judgmental flood as early as in Genesis chapter 7.
Many times God withheld rain so that famine came as his judgment on their sinfulness.
Could the damage we are doing to our environment today actually be God speaking to the human race about their sin?

The heavens definitely do declare the glory of God.
Yes.
Praise him for ever!

It must have been difficult living so far from home dealing with the sweltering weather.

I am so glad you are home and your story expressed all your challenges very nicely.
