However, who are these people,
and what does this mean?
The world’s perception of poor
refers to someone who is in need.
Their necessities cannot be met,
lacking the resources to succeed.
However, the God and Creator of all,
understands why it is perceived that way.
The perception that the world has,
is what leads others astray.
Being poor in spirit in God’s eyes,
refers to the spirit within each of us.
One that is brought back to life,
when we accept His Son, Jesus.
Receiving the fact of His existence,
knowing we would not breathe without Him.
Realizing that with Jesus, as our Lord, and Savior,
we can be forever changed from within.
Being poor “in spirit,” His way can be seen,
as we come to Him as sinners saved by grace.
Although, we can only speak for ourselves,
one day we will see Him face-to-face.
As we serve Him, daily, in our temporary homes,
our spiritual posture should reflect in our lives.
We would not be here today without Jesus Christ,
He is The Only Way, The Truth, and The Life.
Simply knowing we are nothing without Him,
and that His grace and mercy are always there.
Nothing can be done to earn these gifts of life,
but forever serve Him, showing others He cares.
If I sound like I am repeating myself,
it is with one purpose in mind.
Refrain from the ways of this crazy world,
and be more like Jesus, in His time.
Yes, God looks at being “poor” very differently,
and we should too, for all the things we’ve not earned.
Our prayers should be asking for His sight,
so, we can practice what we have learned.
Thank you, Jesus, for Your infinite love. We do not fully understand what You did for us. Nevertheless, we come before You this day.
Humbled and honored that You would look our way. Give us the strength to have a “spiritual posture” that would bring You honor and glory, because if it were not for You in our lives, we would have different stories. We know that in You and through You all things are possible to those that call on Your name (Romans 11:36).
We acknowledge You as the Son of the Most High God, our Abba Father. Knowing without Him we would surely falter. Thank you for Your help through each day and help to maintain an attitude of being poor in spirit to others, showing them kindness, along the way.
In Jesus' name, giving You all the glory, honor, and praise – Amen.
Matthew 5:3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom
of heaven.”
