The first result of the first sin in God’s Creation was arguing, quarrelling, and even murder. Anything but peace.
Sadly, that has been the history of mankind ever since.
So. Is there a remedy for that strife and lack of peace?
Yes! There is a complete remedy!
The Good News of our Lord Jesus Christ.
“How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!” Romans 10:15. NKJV.
Jesus is our perfect Peacemaker.
So what was it that enabled him to be our perfect Peacemaker?
Humility!
“Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.” Philippians 2:5-7 NKJV.
“Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up.” 1 Corinthians 13:4. NKJV.
Almost every conflict in the world originates in someone’s self-parading.
Look at me! Listen to me! I know better than everybody else.
Do you want to be a peacemaker?
At work?
At home?
In your neighbourhood?
In your church?
Simple!
Don’t parade yourself!
Same applies to me!
Oh how I need to be as humble and loving as Jesus!
