Did you know that only well proven and researched medications with clear results are adopted into clinical practice. For example, if a certain medication is to be used for cancer cure, several clinical trials will be undertaken prior to its use in clinics. Without this evidence no hospital will ever prescribe it to their patient.

Few years ago, I was privileged to work in a hospital involved in frequent clinical trials. It was intriguing to watch the dedication given to prove each medication works. First, experimental drugs are produced in the research laboratory for trial. Following this, likely patients that may benefit are informed. The first to consent becomes a patient called "the first in man". This patient is key evidence that a response can be achieved. Once this process is positive, then more patients are informed about this experimental drug. Patients consenting to trails are grouped into two. One group receives a Placebo (a no-effect medication) and the other receives the main research medication. The patients are unaware which medication they received. At the end, the evidence of response from the main group further proofs the effectiveness of the clinical drugs. If good response has been achieved, the medication is commissioned into clinical use. The process of the clinical trials is well document so that it is reproducible should anyone wish to re-research how this process was achieved.

So what does this research information have to do with our saviour Jesus Christ? The reason I share this is that many in our world still assume Jesus is a mere prophet or great teacher without reviewing the evidence. The constant argument that He can neither be God nor the only way to heaven remains popular, however, many adopting this viewpoint may have never researched or bordered considering the evidence. Any argument would remain baseless if a person is unwilling to evaluate the evidence.

Jesus is not only God in human flesh (John 1:1-14; Colossians 1:15-23) but remains the only hope of man in this life and beyond (John 3:16-17; John10:10). One core evidence of Jesus's supremacy is anchored in the resurrection. This core evidence is the reason every true Christian stands firm with their faith until their journey on this earth is climaxed. Jesus died on the cross and rose again with many historic and biblical evidence indicating that He truly rose from the dead. This evidence of rising from dead is both breathtaking and significant. Colossians 1:18b says “... he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy”. Being the first born from the dead assures every believer that His rising from the death means His followers are guaranteed this joy too. Like the clinical research I described above, the “first in man” patient is key to positive response in treatment. Once the first shows response, the clinical team are convinced that their experiment is going to work so they move to the second stage and subsequent roll out for clinical use.

This world will not be our end. There is a resurrection and this would happen to you if you choose Christ Jesus. This is why Christians never lose hope when a believer dies. They may cry but they walk away from funerals with the assurance that they will see their loved one again in a resurrected body free from sickness or pain. This is truly breathtaking because we are being invited to partake in something that is 100% guaranteed with Jesus being the first to ever rise from the dead. No wonder there was a fierce plot to stop this truth from spreading as recorded in Mathew 28:11-15 – “…devised a plan…telling them, you are to say His disciples came during the night and stole him away...” The enemy knew that anyone with this revelation would eagerly follow Jesus to the end hence the plan to silence it. The resurrection remains a core evidence because no other person pointing people to God has ever risen from the grave guaranteeing his followers new bodies and a life beyond this world. For example, Mohammed never rose from the grave. Budha never rose from the grave. I can go on and on proofing that no one else is like Jesus. This is why we follow him. I hope you consider the evidence and follow him too so we all will meet on the resurrection morning. I can’t wait!????
