“For there is no partiality with God.” (Romans 2:11)
Not many years ago, equality was a simple concept; everyone gets the same whether wage or privilege. But equality is not concerned with the vast difference of each one’s starting point; it’s void of favoritism. However, in today’s culture there is a new concept sweeping the land: equity. Equity adds to equality the idea that everyone comes from a different background, therefore, everyone needs to be brought to the same place monetarily speaking or whatever else is seemingly needed to be bring all parties to the same place and this idea is supposed to be about fairness. Using this highly flawed concept, to put everyone to the same point actually works against what is truly fair. Is it truly fair to place someone into a position regardless of their qualifications, like selecting a judge solely based on race?
The Apostle Paul understood what is truly fair: everyone is equal in the Eyes of God. He understood that for some, reaching personal goals may take more effort, more research, more blood sweat and tears, and/or money. This is not to say they must come up with more to accomplish the same thing, but rather that they start out with less causing them to need more to reach the same desired goal.
Today, everyone is being pressured to view equality to imply that everyone should have the same income, but believers know that’s socialism pure and simple, which is NOT of GOD! Nevertheless, the world is moving forward with this communistic ideology.
In the Bible those who do not work, do not eat:
“if anyone will not work, neither shall he eat.” (2Thessalonians 3:10b)
And being equal is based on who we are in Christ, not the government’s idea: tyranny and injustice masquerading as love and charity.
In the Book of Acts, we see communal living, however, this was a culture born from love. Everyone helping out their neighbor; not considering ownership:
“And great grace was upon them all. Nor was there anyone among them who lacked; for all who were possessors of lands or houses sold them and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold,and laid them at the apostles' feet; and they distributed to each as anyone had need.” (Acts 4:32-35)
This may sound like what governments want, but the difference is this example came from love and is beautiful. Today, it’s all about new legislation that will take from the rich and give to the poor. That’s not love and charity, that’s THEFT!
It is astounding how deep this deception goes. Women are taught that they need to fight for equality with men, in everything from work to physical ability. Of course, this convoluted thinking has caused countless family arguments and led to many divorces, but secular society is blind to this Truth.
Furthermore, in the Bible equality doesn’t refer to everyone making all their dreams come true at any cost or fight for titles and/or education. Men have their role. Women have a completely different one, but just as important: to respect her husband’s role of leadership in her family; providing he abides in Christ. God has given women the right to raise up brand new children of God through the gloriously rewarding responsibility of motherhood. Moreover, she is not forbidden to use her skills to benefit her household:
“She seeks wool and flax, And willingly works with her hands. She is like the merchant ships, She brings her food from afar. She also rises while it is yet night, And provides food for her household, And a portion for her maidservants. She considers a field and buys it; From her profits she plants a vineyard.” (Proverbs 31:13-16)
God made woman from man, which puts man in authority over woman, but only in reverence to God’s Law:
“So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherished it, just as the Lord does the church.” (Ephesians 5:28-29)
“Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.” (Ephesians 5:33)
