Such a poetic prayer!
02/06/23
This poem has such rhyming pattern to it and has a message for us all.
I thought the title fit the poem. The rhythm was pretty good, though not perfect. I appreciate rhyming because I know how difficult it can be. I didn't like the use of "glistening" at first, but when I looked it up, it was reflected light: like we reflect Jesus as the light.
"Keep us strong, oh Lord, I pray," has 3 commas in it where most of the lines only have one. I like "Lord, keep us strong I pray." Judge for yourself which you like better.
"to the very One who desires to be glistening." "Very" is an overworked word. How about dropping it and going to this: "To the One who desires our light to be glistening." "Very has two syllables, so I just substituted "our light" for those two syllables. Judge for yourself which you like better.
Overall very good. Keep writing.
This is a lovely piece. I can feel the emotion in this prayer and it touched my heart. Tiny note--everyday means common, but every day means each day. Poetry isn't my strongest suit but I enjoyed this piece and the lovely message.
