God has told us we have a home in Heaven, and we can read all about it in His word. He tells us all about the streets of gold and the rivers flowing with clear water. But what about the heathen who have never heard?

Let’s imagine there’s a young boy called Springs. He lives in the mountains in a faraway land. He says to his teachers at school, “I wonder who made the mountains?” Springs does not really expect an answer. However, Mr. Snowden, one of his teachers, said, “We have stories from long ago. They tell of gods of tremendous strength who made the mountains with their mighty voices.”

Many years passed, and Springs was an adult now. One day, a group of hikers came up their mountain. “How’d ‘ya happen to find us?” Springs asked.

“We left our boat on the sand at the water’s edge. Then we walked ‘til we heard lots of people. We found you by following the sound of your voices and we climbed up the mountain ‘til you were there, right in front of us!”

Several days passed, and the travelers got a little bit settled in their new surroundings. Springs asked one of the newcomers, “How come ‘ya were out there in the water anyhow? Were ‘ya lookin’ for anything in particular, or just lookin’?”

“Well, I’ll tell you. We were looking for someone to tell our story to. Before we left our homes, we were trying to figure out which way to go. Actually, God did not direct us to any place special. He just told us to pray and we would be directed where to go. He directed us all right. We came right to the foot of the mountain.”

So Springs said, “Tell us your story.”

One of the newcomers, Ralph began. “We come from a place called Norway. We wanted to tell somebody about our God. He asked us to tell others about His love. We told everyone we could in Norway as well as other countries. Then our leaders asked us to go out and find more people to tell. So here we are.”

Springs asked, “So what’s so different about your God?”

William began where Ralph left off. “God was angry with man since he did bad things and did not follow God’s rules.” William continued, “Man was supposed to do what God wanted, but he didn’t since he’s a sinner.”

Springs asked, “What’s a sinner?”

“We are all sinners,” David continued. “We have rebelled against the Lord and His laws. But God sent His son, Jesus, to die for us so we can go to Heaven. God washes us clean in the blood of Jesus. We can’t do anything for ourselves as far as Heaven is concerned. But Jesus already did everything God required so He can take us to Heaven and we can escape that awful place called Hell.”

“All you have to do is accept the Lord Jesus into your heart and life and ask Him to be your Lord and Savior. Just pray to Him and ask Him to save you, and He will. We have His word on it in Romans 10:9-10 (KJV) in the Bible. He said it, and that makes it so.” Ralph finished up by quoting more Scriptures and asking if anyone wanted to be saved.

Several weeks passed and Springs and the others thought about what they heard. They discussed it among themselves and with Ralph, William, and David. There were so many new things to think about and consider. Springs and his father decided to accept Christ, and so did his mother and several of his sisters. However, his brothers and his youngest sister decided not to accept the Lord.

This was not what Ralph and the others wanted, but they knew everyone has to decide for himself what to do with Jesus.
