abandoned on the street.
I ate from garbage cans
believed I was damned.
Finally I went to jail.
at others I would rail.
Hate forr my earthly dad
my life had been so bad.
One day I met a man
he said I'm made of sand.
His words made me so sad
sounding like my dad.
He told me of this God
this made me feel so odd.
He called Him my Father
was He like my father?
I pictured Him up there
The One that did not care.
He'd beat me like my dad
is this the life i had?
I thought I'd never win
was I so full of sin?
That's what the preacher said
that God would strike me dead.
One night who should I meet,
a Man with sandals on His feet?
He told me God was Love
He sent it from above.
I asked how could this be
He really did love me.
For God so loved the world,
He gave His Son Jesus,
to die for our sins past, present,
and future.
God does not hate you
He loves you.
He will never leave you
nor forsake you.
What a beautiful promise.
So my Father in Heaven,
was not like my earthly father!
What a peace that came over me.
My life has changed so much.
I remember what Jesus said,
"this is my new commandment
love one another."
I tried it and it works.
I forgave my father, and looked
for love everywhere and found it.
Thank you God for loving me.
