I'm bouncing off the walls.
I looked for a way out
could not find one at all.
My life is full of sin
my mind is all askew.
I loss the will to live
my pride is broken too.
Smoke covers everything
I'm blind and cannot see.
Lost in a sea of sin
what will become of me?
I cannot see the Light
my sin are all around.
Walking I am weary
my burden grind me down.
The sins in me are dark
I cannot find my way.
It's like the pitch of night
I'll never see the day.
As l lay down to sleep
I had the strangest dream.
About a place I've never been
it's by a flowing stream.
A Man was standing there
He motioned me to come.
He pointed at the water
but did not offer some.
"I know you've been sinful
I know just what to do."
"I'll dip you in the river
and you sins will be through."
After He baptized me
I felt so very clean.
My burdens were lifted
do you know what I mean?
And when He was finished
I asked Him what's His name.
"Jesus," was his answer
I was so glad He came.
And from that day forward
He taught me how to pray.
He taught me so many things
I thanked God for that day.
So now as I travel
I tell about that day.
My sins were forgiven
cause Jesus made the way.
