As soon as I read the word amazed for this week, I was transported to my wedding day almost five years ago. My husband and I sang the song Amazed by Lonestar to each other at our wedding. We had each been single for some time and each had three grown children. A Midwestern woman meeting a lifelong New Yorker was truly an amazing story. We have now retired and live in Florida.
There were other times in my life when I was impressed with God’s presence and care especially in those times when I didn’t deserve it. Often I didn’t really understand just how amazing until sometime after the event. But to ignore God’s hand was not an option.
Jesus followers expressed amazement from time to time. How could this man from Nazareth do the things he did? Seeing someone healed, having sins forgiven, even raising someone from death. How could they not be amazed?
I have often read a scripture passage and been amazed at how relevant it was for the time - just what I needed to hear. I never want to lose that sense of wonder and amazement.
And thank God with His promise of heaven to all believers - amazed is a blessing to be shared for all eternity!

As for the rest of the entry...it was powerfully put together, especially about the scriptures, reading just what we need to hear, as if for the first time. That is so true!
