demoralised
and disheartened
seemed to have lost
the sense of wonder
and the joy of life
like stumbling
from a steep slope
I plunged
into a bottomless
pit
Cried
and screamed
but it was of no avail
Wished
the earth would swallow
me and began
a new life elsewhere
Hours went by
followed by days
sort of a duration
an interval perhaps
A gentle touch
followed by a tug
that woke me up from slumber
A kind smiling face greeted me
As I surveyed
I saw His nail-pierced hand
Words of comfort and warmth
flowed from His lips
Have some bread and wine
Remember
My child, fix your eyes on Me
for the joy of seeing you
I went on to the cross
Focus on things unseen
yet eternal
The narrow way leads to life
Walk by faith and not by sight
Go back to the community
to seek fellowship and prayers
I am always in their midst
Neither have I left you
nor abandoned you
Immersed in love
companionship
and peace
a new lease
of life
I’ve gratefully received
He never ceases to amaze
and to bless
but to forget
