As I read, the Lord's desire to have us close to Him stayed before me. We can be so slow sometimes. Thanks for the descriptive reminder.
This is a powerful piece. I believe God does send us little love notes every day, we just aren't able or willing to see them all.

Your opening started with a passive line. Just by switching it around, it can be an active one. For example, I might edit it like this: Sharon sifted through the mail and gasped when she spotted an odd-looking envelope. How did I ever miss this? It looks so important.
I added some body language and put her thoughts into italics to make it stand out. Changing those minor things can paint a more vivid picture for your reader. Making shorter paragraphs and double-spaced them can give the reader the much needed white space too.

I think the love letter from God was poignant. I liked how you used actual Bible verses to showcase his love for us. Your story was on topic in a fresh and interesting way. I think we all can relate to needing a wake-up call now and then. This story definitely does that. Nice job.
