However, the most outstanding Friend I have ever know and He is always with us, He came into my life and now He is my oldest Friend. I came to know Him at the age of nine years old, over 74 years ago I put my faith, hope , and trust in our gracious and loving Lord Jesus Christ as my Savior. I will never forget the day when the Lord called me to the altar of our very large church and the Lord put His arms around me. What a wonderful day that was and the Lord has given me guidance and protection many, many times ever since that day of decision.
God's Word the Bible is the most read book in the history of the world. Today the Message it tells us has never changed over the many centuries since the men of God recorded God's precious Words. Over the years, our most trusted friends we often tell things to and Jesus did the same.
We read in the New Testament where our Lord Jesus refers to his followers as friends, John 15: verses 14 and 15, " Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command of you. Henceforth I call you not servants, for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth; but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard from my Father I have made known unto you."
It is very interesting how all of us being sinners saved by the Grace of the Lord, now read how the Almighty God has elevated us from servants to His friends and He shares his Father's Words with us. Our Lord sure has an enormous love for his friends, for he like a sacrificial Lamb, died, was buried and rose to life on the third day providing us a way to Eternal Salvation.
I pray everyone will accept the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior and they no longer are enslaved to this sinful world. Being a follower of Jesus Christ is the greatest decision we will ever be called upon to make in our earthly life. However the spiritual rewards are untold, and to have the Lord call us His " friend " is like hearing sweet music to our ears. Life in Christ never ends as our Lord tells us in the Book of John.

I loved it.

What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and grief to bear. And the older I get the more I realize the truth of that old hymn
