Every day I’d gamble
with my retched life.
Every day was filled
with great pain and strife.

Nowhere had I been,
did I find release.
I didn’t think the Father,
could give me any peace.

So I kept on risking,
all I had of me.
I continued asking,
“Father please set me free.”

My prays went unanswered
I felt so alone.
God had forgotten me
I was on my own.

So my path was endless,
crooked as could be.
I stumbled here and there,
what would become of me?

I fell into The Pit,
it is so very deep.
So loudly in the darkness,
I began to weep.

Then I heard the laughter,
it came from everywhere.
“You will be here with me,
because God doesn’t care.”

Father can You help me
do You know my name?
Quietly I sat there frozen,
slowly going insane.

Then I heard this voice,
deep within my heart.
“Son I have listened,
from the very start.”

“It’s you that have not listened,
You’re so deep in sin.
you are so busy doing,
look at the shape you’re in.”

All at once it came to me,
my Father did love me.
Then I found the answer,
He’s come to set me free!

He pulled me from The Pit,
into His guiding light.
Now I know I’m with Him,
He’s here both day and night.

I found that when I pray,
I listen for His voice.
If I sit there quietly,
He will show His choice.

If here in this life,
you gamble with your soul.
Just pray and then listen,
He will make you whole.
