Then stared at me and did not blink.
I held king high and knew I'd win.
This one was known to like to bluff .
"I know your stares, your put-me-downs;
You taunt me that my prayers don't work,
And threaten to drag me down to dust.
You pride yourself a winner and make me think I've lost.
But here, I call your bluff — and One is raised."
"I call. What do you have?" he asked.
"I called, so you show first," I said.
He folded in his hand, stood up and slinked away.
The pot was left to me.
If only Eve had called his bluff,
She would have seen the serpent's empty hand,
(and even that he has no hands at all!)
And watched him slither away denied.
When you next meet the challenge of that foe,
Don't try to guess what cards he holds.
Look at your own and if you see you hold the king,
Know that He holds you in His winning hand.

I like the spin you put on the topic, and I especially like the line about looking at your hand and knowing you have won if you hold the king. How true it is!
