Total surrender is easy to proclaim, hard to achieve. I live in time where “losers” are not welcome. Men are taught to not give in, mega church tells me I deserve the best. Do I even know how to surrender. Pray a prayer but never change? What then?
I remember a time just over twenty years ago. Three and a half years of drinking had consumed everything, cars, house, and business. Miles of heartache had been crossed, many losses, relentlessly pursued by those drunken demons, another tired Indian said “ from where the Son now stands, I will fight no more forever.” “Lord, I have messed up my life for these thirty three years, what is left belongs to you.” I surrender all.

I would have expanded this a bit. I think you tried to tell too much in too few words. I would have taken ONE of those paragrahs and made it into the whole story. What about those worriers? Did they learn to surrender to God on the battlefield? What about the modern world? Tell us about a modern day surrender. And then, finally, what about your own life? What did you learn when you surrendered, and what the process look like for you? Take one bit of this and expand it, and I think your entry would be stronger.
Nice job. I loved the opening story about the warriors and want to know more!
