Miserly Man

Miserly man lived in a plenteous land
Of sad, meaningless feasts
For he had the bag and he feared no lack
And to piles and piles of things he cleaved

His house was filled with spoil and turmoil
And being past feeling, he fared sumptuously
He was a man of the world, self-unfurled
He had a full belly and heartless depravity

With his lying tongue, he never got enough
He cheated mankind dressed to the nines
He didn’t fear God, he was a greedy dog
As he lived life despising the widow’s mite

At his table, he viewed empathy as a fable
Stopping his ears at the poor and the meager
His steps were evil as he played the people
And he did not care and he didn’t say prayers

So with great treasure and ill pleasures
He existed, living with enmity
He didn’t see the trouble, fading as stubble
Withering, falling, perishing in. . .greed.

The content of information is well and good but for myself, I prefer a steady meter as it is read and rhyming words.

These are what take time, work and thought. It is the time we don't have in just one week's time.
