where no one's gone before,
I grope around in a mist
for the peace I've lost once more.
God is lost deep in the mazes
that clutter up my mind.
I know He is everywhere
but my smokey eyes are blind.
I know He's always testing
so I might step beyond.
And He gently nudges me
so I'll stay the path I'm on.
What if He doesn’t like me
and turns His back to me?
Or if I find He isn't real
and that He'll never be?
I hear this in a whisper
I fail to stop that voice.
I've fallen off the deep end
lost without a choice.
Suddenly I see a rainbow
God has sent a sign.
He shows me a soul that’s healed
I'm finding out it's mine.
I'm thankful God is patient,
waits til I ask for Him,
Never forces me to pick.
He brightens where it's dim.
With the dawning of the sun
He shows me He is there.
I feel His wings around me
that's why I know He cares.
A calmness in my soul
makes me feel so great.
He hears my every prayer!
He's given me a clean slate.
I know that He is here
to help me with this mess.
He pulled me from the mire
and helps me be my best.
No longer do I sit and fret
going off the deep end.
All my needs are being met
by God, who's my best friend.
