Topic: At Wit’s End (02/13/14)
After working thirteen hours straight, I finally had a chance to sit down and get caught up on my personal email and texts. Truly, I just wanted to relax and not think about anything heavy-I dealt with too many serious issues already at work.

But, I wasn't prepared for what happened that night.

In the middle of that hectic day, I started thinking about Danielle--one of my ex-coworkers. She left our company because of all of the craziness; and the madness itself reminded me of her.

I started our text conversation with a simple, "Hey girl, how u doin?"

"Hey, sup?"

"Just nother day. "U wouldn't believe the craziness that's goin on at work since u left."

"Same old?"

"Yeah, same old same old."

"Come on, tell me how u REALLY feel!!! U know I had to get outta there like FAST."

"Well since u asked....I'm..."

"Come on girl, SPILL."


And this is where technology took me by surprise. I responded to Danielle with "At wit's end" and then tapped Send. Then, my stupid smart phone's autocorrect feature changed what I wrote to...

A TWIT SEND

...then my phone immediately launched a key word app, and I typed the rest of my text to Danielle in a Twitter update! I did exactly what my old friend suggested and I didn't even notice when Twitter came up. I just wanted to unload the day:

"Unreal!!!! People are CRAZY. People are idiots. But even idiots need Jesus. So I just love the idiots anyway."


The text that was meant for just Danielle was suddenly posted for the entire Twitter world to see. It went viral. After just a few minutes, there were dozens of "likes" on it and within hours my post was re-tweeted and posted all around the world on Facebook and Google Plus.

Danielle saw it first. "Hey girl, what u tweetin?"

"I didn't..."

"Yes u did!"

"Oh my... goodness..."

"U need to quit that job."

"Been thinkin LOTS about it, believe me."

"I believe! LOL"

"LOL. I miss u Danielle."

"I miss u too. u kno u could come work with me."

"I am SERIOUSLY thinkin about it."

"Hey, ur idiot tweet is going viral."

"No way."

"Way. I gotta go."

"k - chat l8er."

"l8er"



I miss that girl.

Interesting way to find yourself at your wit's end. I hear people are getting fired because of twitter and facebook posts.

A TWIT SEND was a clever wordplay of the topic. I can relate to the whims of modern technology. They do have a mind of their own.

I liked the dialogue, and although I think you could have added more detail to complement the dialogue, you shared a good message:

When you're at your wit's end, text a friend. :-)
