Topic: Employment (01/26/12)
It just simply amazes me how beautiful some of my fellow Christians can sing. There are others who can play musical instruments beyond my imagination. How great it is to honor our Lord with such beautiful music! They have been employed by the Lord for this great job. I was not gifted with any musical talent. My singing voice is what I would rate poor. I’ve given up thinking I’ll wake up someday and end up in the church choir.

Most of us would think of our employment as the job where we get a paycheck. As a member of the church we are employed by the Lord in specific talents. Most of us do not get a paycheck for being employed by the Lord. We probably didn’t even know He selected us for the specific talent or gifts we might have. Whenever we add all these talents and gifts together as a body we have a complete church.

I started studying prophecy many years ago and believe I have a good understanding. I know that Jesus can give you a prophecy and then you are completely surprised in how he fulfills it. I also understand that the purpose of prophecy is to show that the Lord is God. He is not just right in 3% of his prophecies as Nostradamus’ fans state. God is right 100% of the time.

Many of those in prophecy have not used prophecy the way they should. I have seen many predict the day of the Lord’s coming. This is after the Lord said you will not now the day or the hour. This mistake comes from a lack of not knowing the Jewish culture of the day in which Jesus lived. If you remember Jesus said that he would go prepare a place for us.(John14:2-3) That place he is preparing for us must be approved by the Father of the groom. That’s why Jesus doesn’t even know because His Father might not approve it the first, second or even on the 3rd inspection.

I also have become fairly competent in apologetics. There are so many cults today it’s hard to keep up with their false teachings. For instance the Jehovah Witnesses teach that Jesus is really Michael the Archangel. The JW’s teach that in I Thessalonians 4:17 Jesus comes down from heaven with the voice of the archangel. Those who are not aware of the Jewish wedding tradition could easily be fooled. They believe Jesus has the voice of an archangel. As we know Jesus is the groom and the church is the bride. This scripture represents the wedding party of the Jewish groom coming to announce to the bride that the place is ready and God the Father has approved. A member of the wedding party shouts the announcement, not the groom. Michael the Archangel is the member of the groom’s wedding party that shouts. This is the main verse of the JW’s conversion of the unknowing into their heathen religion.

You don’t win any awards for your actions as an apologist. Sometimes you’re even hated as Jesus predicted. (John 15:18) We are now in fierce spiritual forces of evil. Jesus stood up for us publicly and now it is publicly time for us to stand up for Him. I hope He finds I have done an adequate job. May the strength of the Holy Ghost rest upon us!

This was an interesting piece packed with a lot of information.

In some places I wasn't sure if the many facts that were presented came together in a way that supported the challnege topic. Some of them seemed to jump around a little.

However, I loved the example all of us inteh church being employed by the Lord and not thinking of employment as just the place where you get a paycheck. A very powerful point.

This is a very interesting piece and it spoke to me in ways I am at a loss for words to describe.

I feel like this is a piece meant for a larger word count, with so many thoughts to consider I felt myself wanting to explore the issues with greater detail, but such is the nature of these cozy 750 word pieces, always leaving you wanting more.

You grabbed me in the beginning as I could totally relate to not being able to sing.

These are tiny things but they interrupted the flow for me. I stumbled when you didn't write out 3rd after writing first and second. I felt the same way with the abbreviation JW.

I did find what you said quite fascinating and learned some things I didn't know. I'm doing a Bible study called Falling in love with Jesus. It's about being Jesus' bride. Nice message while still covering the topic.
