Topic: Great Expectations (not about the book) (08/25/11)
Hi God, it’s me.

We’ve delivered him to campus; of course you know that. Kindergarten was just last week. Wasn’t it? College, I have a son in college.

Diving into life with gusto, he sees so much of his own potential. Confident to conquer any challenges; it’s as if he is invincible. Evangelizing others, excelling academically, and continuing his relationship with you all are part of his plan. He thinks he can do it all. Maybe he can!

Lord, he loves you, continue to direct him. Stay very close because I can’t. Letting him go is hard but surrendering him to You is comforting. I know you love him more than I can imagine. Created in my womb and raised in my home but he can't stay there forever. It's time to release him to his future.

Your peace has flooded me, as it always does when I honestly talk to you. Excitement has replaced anxiety; You will do wonderful things through him. His enthusiasm is contagious. I can't wait to see the end results!

Watch over him please, as you always have. I love him so much…and God… THANKS.

Simple heartfelt little piece that packs a big punch that most any parent could relate to! It is so hard letting them go, but also exciting to see what God is going to do with their lives! Enjoyed the read!

Good start and strong ending; I would have liked a little more in the middle... I think this story/prayer has room for expansion. That's a good thing though...that I want more!

What a beautiful prayer , so many parents are saying that prayer or a sambas one right now. This is a time of great expectations pride and a bit of fear. You covered it all so nicely.
