My hands - a gift – that you lent to me
I pound your earth with feet that's yours
To breathe and do and move in you
My thoughts in your presence swirl
A mind you fashioned just for me
This precious gift to steer to truth
To oneness, for which you crave
Days are numbered by your count
Filled by my hope of what could be
Your sun arises as your gift
So that life can live another day
Speech the zenith of your giving
Communion expressed eternally
A twofold gift from you to me
The reciprocation of praise deserved
Random gifts swathed in beauty
A Creator's masterpiece of extravagance
Scattered on me and you and them
Eternal beauty of the Giver's face
Me a pauper, you my Sponsor
Me bereft of hope of gifts
Your love engulfed me with its swamp
To offer me a prince's cache
Your giving heart was rent apart
An ugly spurning of your best
A rejection of grace's masterpiece
The most precious gift of love
What must I do with all you give?
In you, of whom I live and move
And own my nothing but for you
What must I do to mirror Thee?
Give! You are made in the image of me

Absolutely beautiful! Well flowing, gorgeous wording.
"me a pauper, You my sponsor..." Just love this line.

What is man that You take thought of him, And the son of man that You care for him? Yet You have made him a little lower than God, And You crown him with glory and majesty! (Psalm 8:4-5 NAS)
I especially like the part you show how we should respond to God and ask "What must I do to mirror Thee?" Excellent writing.
I agree with Edmond Ng, this reminds me of a psalm. Really enjoyed!
All thy works shall praise thee, O LORD; and thy saints shall bless thee. Psalm 145:10
