Was armed with a pen and a fork.
She got paid to eat,
So it was a feat,
To tighten her belt in New York.
There once was a man from Des Moines
Who spent all his time writing poems.
He scoured the Midwest,
For every contest,
Yet never found fame in Des Moines.
A guy who lived in Topeka,
Was heard exclaiming, “Eureka!”
He discovered his muse,
Got rid of the blues,
And published a book in Topeka
One stay-at-home mom in Santa Fe,
Recorded the details of her day.
She started a blog,
“Two Babies and a Dog”,
And wowed the mothers of Santa Fe.
A girl bought a house in Boise,
Whose neighbors declared her noisy.
She played a piano,
And sang in soprano,
Composing lyrics in Boise.
A man who went to Honolulu,
Got a free trip to write a review.
After several days,
Of luau and lei,
He longed to move to Honolulu.

My only quibble is that Des Moines (pronounced by us Iowans as De Moyn) doesn't really rhyme with "poems".
Great job. :)
