At last, I now can rest,
So long, sleepless nights,
No more feeling stressed.
What started as a spark,
Then grew inside my mind,
Is sitting on a shelf,
Printed and entwined.
Years of fantasizing,
A story to be told,
I could never fathom,
How it would unfold.
Months of composition,
Each day another twist,
At times the plot escaped me,
But on I would persist.
Weeks of harsh revision,
Red ink everywhere,
My manuscript dismantled,
With so much to repair.
Now my task accomplished,
It’s time to say goodbye,
I’ll release my only child,
And hope that it will fly.
Feeling quite protective,
Of my own creation,
I hope the world relates,
To my inspiration.
I long to see my name,
Imprinted on the cover,
And leave a gift inside,
For someone to discover.
So much I need to do,
After all this scribbling,
But my book looks lonely,
I think it needs a sibling.

I think this poem could be even more beautiful if you added a little more imagery through the poem.
I like the picture of your first book being your "firstborn". Keep up the good work!
