Without vision the people perish, cast off restraint, go wild, have no direction or discipline; their energy is dissipated, misdirected and wasted. (Prov. 29:18)
All truths are parallel. Just as what you see in the natural affects you for good or bad, what you see in the spiritual realm or with your mind's eye can have a lasting effect on you. In fact it can shape your future and determine what you become. So what do you see?
That is why we need to allow the word to wash our minds, hitherto polluted by worldly ways of reasoning. Because with a renewed mind, we no longer conform to the pattern or dictates of this world or shaped into it's mould, but are transformed by the renewing of our minds. We start seeing things from God's perspective- see through His eyes.
So mind your mind. It is a powerful tool, a wonderful canvas on which pictures of your tomorrow can be painted; and what you see on that canvas will make you or break you. "For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. .."(Prov.23:7)NKJV
Thinking of sights you see in the natural:
Moses saw the spectacular- a bush that burned but was not consumed and then a voice coming out of it.. "Moses, Moses!" .. He turned round to see the strange sight and his transformation began and so was his ministry.
Then Moses said, "I will now turn aside and see this great sight,
why the bush does not burn.
So he looked, and behold, the bush was
burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed." Ex3:3NKJV
After accepting the call of God, Moses, later sent twelve elders to go and spy the Promised Land. God had painted a picture of a land flowing with milk and honey but when the elders got there, they saw differently. Ten of them saw the giants- the children of Anak- and considered themselves as grasshoppers in their eyes and in the eyes of the giants. They also perceived that the land ate up its inhabitants. (Num13:33)NKJV. Only Joshua and Caleb saw through the eyes of God and brought back a good report, they believed that what God had promised, He would fulfil, the land was a one flowing with milk and honey and if the Lord delighted in them He would take them into the land. They also believed that the giants were bread to them.
Unfortunately the ten elders drowned their voices and spread evil report that plagued the whole congregation like a cancer. Weeping, wailing and whining ensued. God was angry with them and they all died in the wilderness. Only their children and Joshua and Caleb entered the Promised Land. What do you see? (Num 13:26-33:, -14:1-9)
God wants to show us a picture of the future. Often He will paint pictures of where He is taking us. The natural eye can be deceptive. Ask Lot and he will tell you. He saw the well watered plains and ended up in Sodom. But God opened the eyes of Abraham and he saw the Promised Land from afar and that kept him going when the going got tough.(Gen.13:10-18)
But it is just as the Scriptures say,
"What God has planned
for people who love him
is more than eyes have seen
or ears have heard.
It has never even
entered our minds!"
10God's Spirit has shown you everything.
His Spirit finds out everything,
even what is deep in the mind of God.(1Cor.2:9-10 CEV)
So renew your mind, start thinking Gods thoughts, buddy with the Holy Spirit, and you will start seeing sight that will take you places, shape your future, fill it with hope and determine your destiny.
Get into God's presence, behold his beauty. Revel in His presence. Seek his face, not His hand. Choose the better part like Mary. Make intimacy with Him a priority. And He will show you great and wonderful things which you are yet to see. He will give you a vision. And if you can see it and perceive it and conceive it, you can achieve it to the glory of God.
Find your vision. Face that vision. Follow your vision. Be fired by your vision. Fulfil, finish with finesse, your God given vision, dream, purpose and assignment. Nothing else satisfies. And it all begins with what you see.
So what do you see?
