Bitter sweet words of life...

Is it just, this world we live in,
To be so full of pain?
For though my life is older,
I am still standing in the rain.
And now my world seems colder,
Knowing my love is over.

My live it seems so gray,
It makes me sad like a rainy day.
When I think of my lost love,
My heart falls from the sky above.
This bitter life for me so sad,
To make my heart seem never glad.
Yet in my mind I sometimes see,
The sweetness of life still left in me.
Which makes me feel I want to cry,
Tell me please, why does love die.

But in heaven you now dance,
Singing to me your words of chance.
How I pray one day to hear,
Bitter sweet words to me so dear.
If I could have one thing to do,
I wish to say, I still love you.

Your words, like life, contain pain. But I'm glad you still had hope in your ending. Your title is exactly right, life can be bitter and sweet.

Your heart always shines through your writing, Pup. It was good to discover your comment on my story "The Puppy and The Master." Wow, what beautiful heart- wrenching words. I do believe we must be kindred spirits, although I haven't suffered like you have, I have had many of the same thoughts. This poem is incredible. One of my all-time favorites. Thank you for allowing me a peek into your heart.
