Both fists raised in the air;
He came, intent on proving
That life was just not fair.
As a toddler, he was charming,
His smile could be quite warm;
But still the smallest crisis
Brought on a raging storm.
A challenge to his parents,
A trial to all his friends;
He failed to honor others,
And refused to make amends.
In junior high and high school,
He altered not his course;
What he wanted, that he did,
And made his way with force.
His mother’s heart was broken,
At her offspring’s set of mind;
She longed to turn and lead him
To the Savior, good and kind.
But leaving home in anger,
His heart he hardened still;
The path he chose was tragic,
And centered on his will.
With time, he ran the gamut
of crime and all sin’s calls;
Sadly, soon he found himself,
Within dark prison walls.
Weeks and months went slowly,
And his heart began to break;
He longed for those who loved him,
Viewed his life one big mistake.
He searched for peace and comfort,
And a voice he seemed to hear -
His mother, crying, pleading,
“Seek the Savior, He is near.”
So to his knees he stumbled,
And sought the Master’s face;
His mind, his heart he yielded,
And found the Lord of grace.
On his release, he hastened,
To those who knew him best;
He asked for their forgiveness,
And then his soul found rest.
His mother’s smile received him,
As tears streamed down her face;
With tender arms she hugged him,
As joy took sorrow’s place.
From that day, to his life’s end,
The change was plain to all;
God’s touch brought joy and love,
To him who chose to call.
And so it shall forever be,
That He will hear each cry;
He’ll change and help the seeker,
And show that He is nigh.
His compassion changes not,
His heart is searching still;
He reaches for the broken one,
To wrap in His sweet will.

Be careful with pronouns; all the way through 'He' and 'His' referred to the boy/young man. Then in the last 2 verses it suddenly referred to the Lord. It is pretty obvious that there has been a change, but even so it is one of those things that can cause the reader to 'stumble' and that spoils an otherwise good read.
You showed powerfully the Lord's ability to rescue absolutely anyone! Nice job.
