God sent His Son to us to save us from our sins. He saw a need for one last and final sacrifice.
A lamb to be slain and shed his blood for our faults and shortcomings that could literally send us to hell.
He sent Jesus to earth, announced by angels and a star to guide shepherds to the scene where they found their salvation. Mary and Joseph were anointed to take care of Jesus and “raise” him in a family environment being taught about His Father, God. Jesus knew He had a special purpose and began at an early age to fulfill it.
Jesus is the greatest Christmas gift that ever was given. He came to teach us about love, forgiveness, surrender, giving, and most of all how to live a life pleasing to God. He taught about that goodness mercy that Psalms told us was available. He came as a lamb for the slaughter as Isaiah told us. He will rule this world as prophesied in the end.
Christmas is a wonderful time to share with family and friends. It’s a wonderful time to share gifts and make someone’s life a bit happier. It is a time of friendship and fellowship. But, we have to remember to include Jesus. If not for Him, there would not be a Christmas celebration.
The world has tried forever to force us to believe that this is all a myth. They won’t accept that Jesus actually came and went to the cross for us. It’s sad that some believe that we are our own god and in the end we will just cease to exist. We must tell the truth.
Jesus is the reason for the season.
We need to understand the reason for the season.
We must never accept it as a myth.
God sent His Son, our sin debt to pay
So, we won’t have scars like He went home with.
