From most others that you know,
For we live in a lush, green valley
Beneath three volcanoes.
Mt. Rainier towers behind us
With Mt. St. Helen to one side,
And directly ahead, sits Mt. Adams,
All three majestically tall and wide.
Surrounding our home are gardens,
So beautiful to see,
Where flowers bloom in abundance,
Along with pine and apple trees.
No frills or pastel colors
Can be found inside the door,
But very rustic furniture
And other lodge décor.
There are lots and lots of windows
With just the perfect light
For reading or writing or viewing
Some of God’s most awesome sights.
Our home is very quiet
For few seldom venture here.
Even though, they would surely enjoy
Seeing bears and elk and deer.
We love our quiet, humble home
So far from city strife,
And everyday, we thank the Lord,
For this season of our life.
