You want to be taught something that will change you today, for it seems like the fog and apprehension has you stuck and stagnating. You can’t pinpoint what it is that is making you want to hide. But that hidden place has you isolated, and the pain of it all has gotten unbearable. It may have to do with wondering if the direction God has you on is worthwhile. Right now it seems pointless to you.
God answered your prayer that day, and you are still learning lessons from what you saw. You thought you knew so much after having approached a particular milestone birthday. You thought you were wise and observant and aware, but it seemed lately that a cloud has fallen on your heart and darkness has tried to creep in, and desperately you are looking for that light of day that gives you once again the hope you long for.
You were just walking your dog in the park when you saw it. At first you wondered if it was a mirage, or if you were in a dream. Nothing has caught your eye like that in a while, and you just had to stop and stare and wonder is this it?
Is there a lesson in the most beautiful perfectly round 3 foot in diameter spider web that seems to be suspended between the trees just floating there 7 feet off the ground. It’s more beautiful than any crocheted placemat you have ever seen, and that is what it looked like with tiny immaculate details in the spokes like a giant wheel that has thousands of little lines between the spokes with the sun ray’s reflecting each one like a rainbow. Barely seeing the spider in the bull‘s eye of his creation, you knew what was going on. Some lessons to learn. Something speaking to your innermost being to rescue you from the fog of your soap opera life.
The spider is unaware that the gardeners’ riding mowers are about to ride right through his masterpiece. For him, it will not all be for naught, for he just starts over again and does what he does. The revelation of that gives you pause. All that work for what? To be destroyed in a moment by people who don’t care about how long it took… The tragedy of it weakened your knees as you sat and stared seeing clearly once again.
God has created you to do His work, and you fail, or it is destroyed, or misunderstood, and you get up the next day feeling defeated , basking in self pity. Your eyes are opened. There is a lesson in the web. That web was put there for you to see that you must do what you do and keep going and not let any gardener stop your work.
Your work each day is to be in His will and glorify Him. No matter where He has you, it is up to you to weave a web for others to see. It may just be a fleeting moment when you smile at someone who needs a lift, or listen to someone who needs an ear, or give to someone who needs a meal. It is your web that a few see, and most don’t, but God keeps count, and when He hears the music of the saint’s obedience all over the earth, it is your worship, joining the others to harmonize with the chorus of heaven around the very throne of God. The church doing Kingdom business.
