A STEP OF FAITH

Mary knows that God‘s call is upon her life, and that she has to witness to people about the love of Christ but she is so fearful because of her past.

When ever she prays and sets about to take a step of faith for the Lord, she remembers her shameful past of sexual immorality and waywardness.
She cringe inside and thinks , what will I say to people who know about my past or what if this people discover my past ,would I have any credibility?
These thoughts keep her from being the best she can be for the Lord .She reads all the scripture that she can find on boldness and God’s forgiveness of sins. How He Has erased His children sins and buried their sins in the sea of forgetfulness.
However she continues to struggle with guilt and shame of people’s opinion about her past life, especially now that she is the respected wife of a pastor in thriving ministry .O Lord she thinks why did you not help me all that time, why did I not know your word like I know it now, how can I rise above my past and do God’s will for my life? O Lord give me wisdom, she prays. She continued to pray for purity and cleansing.

She remembers the story Rahab the prostitute, the woman caught in adultery, the woman of Samaria who had 4 previous marriages and how God had worked in their lives, she was encouraged, but she still did not have enough confidence to step out in faith .Until one glorious day she when she read an account of the apostles ‘prayer in Act 4:23-31 and she followed their example and prayed the same prayer .She was encouraged and she felt the Lord building up her faith. She took bold steps to share the gospel with unbelievers and began interceding on various issues of concern within the ministry and generally.

She began an intercessory ministry and the Lord started to bless these ministry .Her past is in the past, buried in the pool of the blood of Jesus and in the sea of forgetfulness. She has decided to forget all that is in the past and she is pressing towards the goal and not burying her talent out of fear. She intends to fulfill her divine destiny by God’s grace and through His help .Glory! Halleluyah!

This is exactly why the Lord calls every person who has accepted Christ to be a witness for Him. Many have experiences that He can use to uniquely draw others to His side.
