The purpose of all thetans was to be the best that they could be and Gizmo had certainly attained that role in life. Matter of fact, he ruled in Thetanology—the sacred psychological religion of the thetan’s. While there were many gods within his religion, the one that every Thetan strived to be was called Theos. This was the head god—the epitome of perfection. Gizmo had come a long way and from his perspective, he was almost there.
Why, he couldn’t leave his family squadra these days without other Thetans lurking just outside the gate hoping to get a glimpse of his Excellency.
He thought about this fact and was gripped with mixed feelings of pride and amusement. A sly smile began to well up inside of Gizmo causing his upper lip to curl. It was a wild almost sadistic expression. Why, he mused, I am the best of the best and no one or nothing could rob him of these feelings of euphoria.
Gizmo didn’t know why anyone on the planet would even attempt to place their faith in anyone other than himself. He had it all—super intelligence, a castle of a squadra, an elegant spouse, money, power and fame. He certainly did have it all—at least from other the other thetans point of view!
Then one day his lovely Thetan spouse died. She just faded away and to his surprise Gizmo lost all interest in his huge squadra and his money. He quickly came to realize that his power and fame were useless without the love of his life. He had no one to share the glamour with and Gizmo began to understand for the first time what life was really all about.
The most important thing in life is love and having other thetans around to share in the good things that life has to offer. For the first time in his whole life, Gizmo realized that he had taken his lovely thetan wife for granted by assuming she would always be there. Now she was gone and he was so alone. He was feeling so low these days. He honestly did not know if he could muddle through another miserable day.
The next day an associate passed his way. You see, Gizmo didn’t have a lot of friends since he’d put himself so far above all the other thetans. But this fellow thetan didn’t study Thetanology. It seemed that he already knew the secret to abundant life and today he met Gizmo right where he was and openly shared his God, Jesus Christ with Gizmo
Amazingly, Gizmo listened with interest and decided to be open-minded about what he was hearing. And, although, he was not ready to accept and believe everything he heard just yet, you can rest assured that new seeds of life were planted in Gizmo’s heart that fateful day.
The one who plants and the one who waters work together with the same purpose. And both will be rewarded for their own hard work. 1 Corinthians 3:8 (NLT)
