I loved this. Loved the style and the old fashioned ideas that come down through the generations. I can't find a soul who can bake a Rhubarb Pie! Guess it went out with the incoming Doughboy who we punch in the tummy to hear him giggle. Great Creative Job - and one word missing in last sentence right?? Shape up? smile...Great job!

Oh, I'm with you, dear writer---unless I'm in a rush to bring something to yet another church pot-luck! Then I do appreciate that little Doughboy giggle.

Hey, Marilyn, all my pies are made from scratch (there's no piecrust like the old-fashioned lard stuff!) and I do make rhubarb pie! But, only when I can't help myself :)

Your sixth paragraph is a delicous sermon. You may invite me for pie any time!

Ha Ha. I feel the same way. Although I don't bake that much, I share these thoughts.

Good job. Wonderfully written.

I enjoyed this narrative and was especially grabbed by the title and opening sentence. Could just picture that Pillsbury Doughboy popping up! Great message, too.
