Lead me down to the shore
Take me down to the river
Where there’s peace forevermore
Wash the sin from my body
Make me purest white
Lead me down, Lord, to the river
And sit by my side
Sin it came a creepin’
Into my weary heart
My life tore to pieces
And my soul ripped apart
Satan’s grip is mighty
He think’s he’ll win somehow
But Lord I know you’re there
In this - my darkest hour
Lead me down, Lord, to the river
Lead me down to the shore
Take me down to the river
Where there’s peace forevermore
Wash my sins from my body
Make me purest white
Lead me down, Lord, to the river
And sit by my side
We went in that river
The water came up high
It swirled all around me
I couldn’t believe my eyes
Though my sin’s black as soot
The water – it ran clear
My sin was washed away
And I felt Jesus near
Saying….
“Come down to the river
Come down to the shore
We’ll go down to the river
Where there’s peace forevermore
We’ll go down to the river
Where there’s peace forevermore…”
