“Oh, the other right lane.” She chuckled and caught the twinkle in his eye.
“Well, that makes a bit more sense.” Mark edged the car into the left lane, “I was wondering how much further right you wanted me to go. All I had on the right was the sidewalk.”
Morgan stared at her husband of four years. The time had just flown. Life had transitioned them from city to city and job to job. Each journey had brought them closer together as a couple and as a family.
“So are you ready for Paris? It will be so much fun celebrating our anniversary there, don’t you think?” Mark asked and the joke kept growing between them. Money was always needed in a variety of places and their travel fund had been limited for most of the marriage. To compensate they created spectacular journeys that would not break the budget.
“Yep, this is the makings of the true ‘How to go to Paris on $50!’ article” Morgan matched his wit with her own.
“Just picture us, Morgan, in view of the Eiffel Tower sipping on lattes and Parisian coffee.”
Morgan laughed. “I can’t wait.”

As the sat at the base of the Eiffel Tower looking up at the tall metal structure with the bright red cowboy hat on the top, they leaned forward and shared a kiss. What a vision – two lovers in Paris. Well, two lovers in Paris, Texas, population 28,000 and today two extras just passing through.
Mark raised his coffee cup. “Here’s to the promises of tomorrow: You, me, a thousand journeys and a million memories – all within our budget of course.”
As Morgan sat there her mind felt the contentment that only comes by choice. By the knowing that each day is special, each moment is a treasure and disappointment is simply a good perspective gone wrong. “To all the cities of Paris that we shall visit in our lifetime and to all of the kisses we shall share in each one to ensure that we are both completely content forever and ever.”

Mark watched Morgan sleep as the final traces of the sun slipped down below the horizon in front of them. What a gal she was. If he could have jetted her to Paris, France, he would have – but what he loved most about Morgan was her ability to be content no matter what state or country she was in. They shared a common vision, and together they trained for a mission field while camped out in a one bedroom apartment in the heart of Dallas, Texas. Mark pulled the car over quietly and leaned forward to kiss Morgan. “Where there is no vision my people perish.” Mark thought to himself. What a vision Morgan was and the way she loved him and the way he loved her, just what God had wanted for the two of them. He leaned forward and kissed her lightly on the lips. Morgan stirred slightly, her full lips curving into a small smile and then she fell back to sleep her body content and relaxed.
Mark smiled and pulled the car back onto the road, driving to catch up to the promises of tomorrow and another vision of Paris.

It took me a minute to get through the first few lines as I tried to figure out who was talking, but then it flowed better. A little polish on the dialogue and detail wouldn't hurt. ;-)
Good job. I'm glad you submitted this piece!
