Life is not fair!!!
Take for instance, last week I wanted the last piece of pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving. I asked mom if I could have it and you know what she says? “Better ask and see if anyone else wants it”. That was totally dumb. I ended up splitting it four ways.
And this morning in school Jenna and I were passing notes but I got caught. Mrs. Meyers asked if it was something I wished to read out loud? Scared stiff, I could only shake my head no. That would have been so embarrassing; cause the note was about Jimmy and how he’s the cutest sixth grader on earth and wished he would hold my hand at recess.
And then Jenna got to sit by Jimmy at lunch. I had to sit by Arnold. Yuck! Arnold smells like syrup. And Jenna doesn’t even like Jimmy. I wonder if Jimmy even knows I exist?
Yeah, life’s not fair!
Mom asked me who was it that said life was about being fair? She reminded me to think about the story of the prodigal son. I did, but every time I remember that story I think his dad was too nice. I’d be like older son, mad and angry cause his brother wasted so much of his life, and his dad’s wealth. I told mom what I thought. She just smiled.
Well I got off track and wanted to write about after school today, when I walked home. I was thinking about all the things that were going wrong. Well, not really wrong, it is just not the way I want them to go. Of coarse I want Jimmy to notice me and not Jenna. And I don’t want to get caught passing notes in school; actually I shouldn’t be passing notes. But I was mad about Jenna and school and teachers, when out of the blue I remember the Sunday School lesson. Something about ‘when times are good, be happy but when times are bad, consider that God makes the good as well as the bad’.
So, Dear Diary, thanks again for letting me blow off steam. Life might not be fair, guess I’ll have to expect good and bad in my life. Sure is nice to know God is there for me 24/7. Thanks! I feel soooo much better.
Good night Diary.
Yours truly,
Cindy
