Sitting at the dinner table,
Eating what you've got.
Little sister's growing angry
Momma found her hidden pot.
Dad is drunk and shouting,
Momma's welfare check is late.
Your mind flows with questions,
Why's the world so filled with hate.
Eyes begin to water,
Tears start flowing down.
Speak of peace in the family,
They laugh like you're a clown.
Running scared through shadows,
Hiding the tears you shed.
In your mind a rugged cross,
And a Savior there that bled.
Struggle through the cross fire,
Take a good look around.
Walking on the battle lines,
Standing on higher ground.
No fears or disillusions,
Of dancing on streets of gold.
In the shadow of a blood stains,
You weep for His love so bold.
Table's over-flowing,
With the abundance of life.
Praising God is left forgotten,
With dreams of lust and pride.
Days flow by like shadows,
No more prayer on your knees.
Man will seek his own salvation,
And fall like the leaves of a tree.
When the final day has dawned,
The trumpet sounding clear.
Armies of the world shall gather,
With war and death and fear.
Will you stand in the shadows,
Weeping for your past lies.
Or cheering boldly for victory,
Standing tall with the King of Life.
Struggle through the cross fire,
Take a good look around.
Walking on the battle lines,
Standing on higher ground.
No fears or disillusions,
Of dancing on streets of gold.
In the shadow of a blood stains,
You weep for His love so bold.
Sins shall be forgotten,
As you praise for eternity.
Lord shall heal all sorrows,
Setting all the captives free.
The bride shall be numbered,
Dressed in robes of white.
We'll be sitting at the table,
Feasting eternal life.
Loved-ones in your life are gathered,
Singing out praise to the Light.
No more shall you hunger,
Or shed the tears of strife.
You'll eat the bread of heaven,
Straight from the hand of Christ.
A million years in Glory,
Take a good look around.
Walking by the Crystal Sea,
Standing on heaven's ground.
No fears or disillusions,
As you dance on streets of gold.
In the shining light of His victory,
You still weep for His love so bold.
...sitting at the table,
Feasting eternal life.
Loved-ones of your life are gathered,
Singing out praise to the Light.
No more shall you hunger,
Or shed the tears of strife.
You'll eat the bread of heaven,
Straight from the hand of Christ.
