Everyday, I watched it grow,
Till it became a tree
Strongly rooted in the ground.
It was a beautiful tree
With fresh and green leaves
Its trunk bearing branches,
Its branches bearing good fruit.
It was greatly admired by many
As they passed by and saw it.
I was proud it was my tree when
I thought of how I grew it.
The hungry couldn’t resist it
As they plucked its fruits to eat.
Succulent and delicious they were,
Nourishing their bodies quite well.
But as I looked at it one morning
I thought and said to myself
“More of this tree can be birthed
If I take the time to plant the seeds”.
I began to plant the seeds,
And watered like I did at first.
Before long, they grew and sprung up
Filling the whole land with trees.
The joy of planting
Stood before me so beautiful!
How would I have had a forest
If I didn’t take the time to plant?
Once, I was like the fruitful tree
Satisfied with just being me,
Till I found out that the fruits and
Seeds in me, could give birth to others.
Today I am like you,
Planting good seeds in
Every space and place,
Causing a great harvest.
I am the joy of planting
Standing right before you
How would I have been a forest
Had you not planted?
