The first question came from Anna, the newest convert.
“How could this be? Why were the Laws abolished?. Dont we have laws, law enforcers and lawyers in our county to keep us safe” she asked.
June jumped in and said “This idea was so simple and divergent. Please, just think of it; it was so utterly effective!”
Vicar John responded “ Based on His Word, The Father knew that it required Grace!” The law had failed…James the apostle wrote these words; ‘For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all’... {James 2:10}.
So, what is this Grace? In the Bible, grace is the freely given. It is unearned favor and love of God toward humanity. Grace means goodwill, loving-kindness, or a gift that brings joy. It emphasizes God's rescue and forgiveness given to sinners through Jesus Christ. You cannot work for, buy, or earn God's grace. It is a free gift.” he continued slowly. It also means ‘For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast’
{Ephesians 2:8}.
“How were the earthlings to expand their thinking to receive this… Grace?” came a voice from the back rows
“They needed to, if they were to live like Jesus, if they were to love their neighbors and to be ambassadors to The King. It meant freedom from the shackles of multiple laws.
This Grace was a free gift and unmerrited to them.” replied Vicar John.
Anna added to the conversation; “So, no animal sacrifice or strict rules except to love…!!!???”
“As I understand it, Grace was this new Kingdom’s `law’ and it alone was so much larger and powerful than the old dead ones. Thinking patterns changed; the ability to receive increased, so the earthlings could love. Jesus was The Supreme Example! In many ways, it was just so simple. No more studying books of rules and laws! No more Scribes and Pharisees!” added Fanny with a smile in her voice.
“Gowned priests would need to get jobs. The Temple now served no purpose. This Grace took love to the streets and crossed racial, tribal and geographic barriers. It went all over the world. All the earthlings needed to do was believe, receive and love as Jesus loved. King Jesus did all the work. He suffered beatings, hate speech and false accusations. He was crucified on a wooden cross, wearing a crown of thorns.
Then His Emissary came. The Holy Spirit is still here with us. He lives in us and He enables us earthlings to follow The Way. When they do, they found that they could see and do things differently. The earthlings now had women in their group too; who are filled with The Holy Spirit. The ‘Christ followers love mission’ is to love their neighbors:-Feed the hungry, heal the sick, raise the dead, clothe the naked, and cast out demons.” added the assistant Vicar Mark.
So, His Kingdom came; quietly at first, without sound, but it changed everything in the earth. The price was paid by Jesus. In his human body, He suffered beatings, hate speech and false accusations. He was spat on, condemned to death; then cruelly nailed - Hung and crucified on a wooden cross, wearing a crown of thorns.
The earthlings who believed, grew and expanded; they received the Holy Spirit and became `sons of God’. His Kingdom is now global and its free!! Free to Jews and Gentiles.
