Down the centuries people from all walks of life have been mistreated, enslaved, beaten, and faced hardship to live a normal life because of fear and the opponents want to be in control. This has taken place in nearly all civilizations and even now this is still happening.

Why is this and can we bypass this kind of atrophies?

Unfortunately, this is one of the evils that keep recurring, but it is because of sin. Laws have been created to handle these kinds of miseries, but it is not a cure for all. The laws that are created are pushed aside and are not enforced. And guess what? These laws are all modeled after the principles of the Bible.

Isn’t that interesting?

The new situation comes up under new names to give the onlookers a fresh view of the situation for the new perpetrators to hide their true motives which are aimed to kill, steal and destroy. In a recent speech to a group of Americans, the speaker highlighted the following:

We must keep Africa poor because they have the resources that we want, and we try to ensure that this is done by giving aid and keeping repressive regimes in power to keep the people under control.

Is this new? No. This is a scheme used to blind the onlookers, but The Lord God sees and knows the heart of men. That is why we should not put our trust in men but in the Lord because He wants the best for us as people and as a nation.

In the book of the Exodus, we read where a new Pharaoh ascended the throne, and he became fearful of the Israelites and forced them into slavery. They were under this oppression for over four hundred years but God delivered them. It was when prayers went up and God did a mighty work in bringing them out of bondage.

Today God is still active and is a prayer-hearing God who answers and makes the impossible possible. You might be in a situation where you are enslaved, or mistreated. Do not give up hope. Pray, reach out for help and God will attend to your cry. Remember He is a present help in trouble., (Psalm 46:1)
