When the preacher called us “lost sheep”
And invited us to a new fold,
Where a good shepherd, Jesus was awaiting us.
He explained that food was prepared,
And a place for us to stay.
He’ll tend to our wounds of hunger, despair, and abuse.
Once we come to him
He’ll never turn us away.
Hearing this sweet news,
I hurried to the Altar.
Went on bended knees and yielded myself to Jesus.
I confessed my sin and shame.
And accepted his sacrifice of love.
Then, I heard Him say.
“I am the door, if anyone enters by Me, he will be saved,
And will go in and out and find pastures.
I am the good shepherd”.
Today, I am still living with Jesus, my shepherd,
I owe my existence to Him.
‘Cause He has cleansed, forgiven, and healed me.
He knows me and he loves me.
He has given me abundant life and a blessed hope.
I’m not selfish with my new life,
So, here’s your invitation too,
Come to Jesus, the Shepherd.
I can testify of his guiding care, love, and tenderness.
He’ll always be beside you,
To correct and nug you with his rod.
To keep you on the narrow path and among his fold.
I can guarantee you’ll have a life with his promise.
“Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the
Days of my life;"
And I know you will dwell in the house of the Lord, forever.
