The first secret is that I am loved by God through Jesus Christ despite my sinful nature. This happened when I realized that I was a sinner as the Bible made it clear in Romans 3:23
“All have sinned and have come short of the glory of God.”
Again, in Romans 6:23 “the wage of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life”.
But a powerful story hits! Jesus Christ became my Saviour by shedding his spotless blood on a cruel cross to die for my sins.. Here he took my sins of the past, present, and future with him. In the book of John 3:16-17, it is beautifully recounted.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.”
The second secret is that I accepted this free, abundant love. This love is perfect, and has no ties to status, or monetary gain. Rather, it is pure and true. No more do I need to seek approval to be accepted by persons who I want to love me. I discovered I can be the best version of myself by accepting who I am. I am free from the bandage of sin and death. I found my solace in 1 John 1:9.
“If we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
Before I was always craving attention, even from my single mother who was unaware. We did not have a relationship where we spoke authentically about any subject. At that time I did not know but with Jesus as my Savior this area of my life was healed because I can talk with him in prayer and he hears and answers.
A third secret is that I am a new person in Jesus. In 2 Corinthians 5: 17.
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things become new.”
Here my real story as a new babe in Jesus has begun and I feel happy about this. My sense of identity is renewed. I am both physical and a spiritual being. I do not just see just the temporal things but at a deeper level, the spiritual. I have the right perspective in life.
I do not just see life as eating, drinking, enjoying oneself and die but to be purposeful, love the Lord Jesus with all of my heart and neighbor as myself and be his disciple, spreading salvation.
My fourth secret is encapsulated in Micah 6:8;
“He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?”
I love the Lord Jesus because He is my everything. Paul says clearly Acts 17:28:
“For in him we live, and move, and have our being;”
This is all of my life because I have escaped death from accidents because of the Lord’s mercies. He has opened doors for me because of his divine purpose for my life and he has guided my choices in marriage, to name a few things.
The fifth secret of my life is that I have a hope that is steadfast and sure. I believe Jesus is coming again and I will be with him. When I see the ravages of sin, the crime, and the works of Satan, I am not disheartened because I know my Savior is able to keep me.
I can say assuredly that Jesus Christ is the way the truth and the life and I am experiencing a great life as his child. You too can be a part of this great experience.
