It’s never good to be lost,
I know from experience.
Before GPS came along
I got lost outside my own fence.
I used maps and a friend’s advice,
Cried for help and asked for directions,
Left early to allow for mistakes,
Then got confused at each intersection.
Where oh where is my sense of direction?
Where is the place I was going?
It would wear me out to figure it out
And frustrates me when not knowing.
Being lost on the road is one thing,
To be lost in life is unsparing
In the toll it takes on our soul,
As we search to keep from despairing.
I remember some decades ago
It was time to make life decisions.
No compass and no foundation
Left me with limited vision.
The blackness of night
Obscured my path,
I push at the crushing air ‘round me
To help me
Breathe in some light.
Flowers don’t bloom in darkness
Their buds prematurely fall,
Never fulfilling their destiny
To bring beauty
Meant for all.
I floundered and misstepped for a while,
Until a friend sensed my inner cry.
She shared with me Christ’s provision,
Which lifted the veil from my eyes.
Light illuminates the once-dark night,
The bloom on the flower wears a crown.
I rejoice at life’s unfolding,
I’m no longer lost--I’m found.

Especially clever how you wove the two 'losts' together.
Your words have brought back memories ofmy stte of being spiritually lost and more recent memories of the exhaustion of 'lostness' before GPS.
Kudos
